How often should i have my eyes tested?

This will be dictated by your optician, for the majority of customers it should be every 2 years, but please follow the advice of your optician.

The NHS entitlement is as follows - over 60's and children under the age of 16 are eligible for free NHS eyecare. However, many more people can also receive free NHS eyecare and may not realise it. If any of the below applies to you, you may be eligible for a free NHS eye test and may also be eligible for a NHS glasses voucher.

  1. Aged over 60 or under 16 or under 19 and in full time education.

  2. Have diabetes or glaucoma.

  3. Aged 40+ and have a close relative with glaucoma.

  4. Registered blind or partially sighted.

  5. You receive income support or income based allowances.
